Ed, or "Baj," was hired by the Los Angeles County Fire Department in 1978 and was able to work with his father-in-law. As a firefighter, engineer, fire camp foreman, inspector, and captain, his duties and stations changed but not his love for the job. Whether it was working in a station, a fire camp, the education detail, or fire prevention, he always claimed to have the best job. In 2009, Brother Bajenaru lost his battle with job-related cancer.
